Burton J. Fiske
February 26, 1925 - June 13, 2006

Burton J. Fiske, 81, Salina, died Tuesday, June 13, 2006.

Mr. Fiske was born Feb. 26, 1925, in Soldier. He was a postal clerk for the U.S. Postal Service for 28 years, retiring in 1985. He was a 60-year member of the Salina Blue Lodge 60, the Salina Scottish Rite, the ISIS Shrine and the Eagle’s Lodge of Salina. He served in the U.S. Army from 1943 to 1945 during World War II and then served in the U.S. Army Reserve from 1945 to 1985. He married Wilma L. Gallagher on Aug. 21, 1949, in Holton.

Survivors include his wife, Wilma L., of Salina; four sons, Raymond and wife Brenda of Nounan, Idaho, Kenneth and wife Mich and Darrell and wife Kara, all of Salina, and Garry and wife Maureen of Tequesta, Fla.; three daughters, Elizabeth Garrison and husband John of Wichita, and Roberta Pratt and husband Mike and Janet Carlson and husband Rick, all of Salina; three sisters, Mary McGregor of Topeka, Charlotte Kieffer of Tecumseh and Shirley Longberg of Wichita; 17 grandchildren; and 17 great-grandchildren.

The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at the Belmont Boulevard Christian Church, Salina. Burial will be in Gypsum Hill Cemetery, Salina.

Memorials may be made to the Prader-Willi Syndrome Association.

Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday at Ryan Mortuary, 137 N. Eighth, Salina 67401.
