Mr. Fowler was born May 2, 1918, in Augusta. He was a truck driver.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Mildred, in 2005; three sons, Donald, Dean and Steaven; and an infant son.

Survivors include three sons, Phillip of Miltonvale, Jim of Salina and David of Hickory, N.C.; a daughter, Patricia Thayer of Salina; a brother, Gilbert of El Dorado; 21 grandchildren; and 28 great-grandchildren.

The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Friday at Ryan Mortuary, 137 N. Eighth, Salina 67401. Burial will be at 10 a.m. Saturday in Gypsum Hill Cemetery, Salina.

Memorials may be made to Hospice of Salina.

Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. today at the mortuary, where the family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m.
