Jolene Sue Gremmel, 68, Salina, died Monday, May 1, 2006. Mrs. Gremmel was born Jolene Sue Beach on May 20, 1937, north of Athol, the daughter of Floyd and Luella Beach. She was a foster parent for the state of Kansas for many years and also worked at Wells Department Store, the Warehouse Market and was director of housekeeping at College Park, all at Salina. In recent years, she had been a home health-care provider. She married Wayne Gremmel on July 18, 1954, in Kensington. She was preceded in death by her parents; an infant sister, Velda Jean Beach; and her husband, Wayne, in 1992. Survivors include three sons, Rickie Van and Radley Brent, both of Salina, and Regan Wayne and wife Veronica of Tescott; three foster sons, Butch Vandiver of Goodland, and Bob Vandiver and Larry Vandiver, both of Salina; six grandchildren, Aleishia Gremmel, Rhiannon Gremmel, Lindsay Gremmel Schuster, Alecya Gremmel, Tanner Gremmel and Michael Vandiver; and seven great-grandchildren. A memorial service will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Ryan Mortuary, 137 N. Eighth, Salina 67401, Pastor Helen Martin officiating. A graveside service will be at 4 p.m. Friday in Myer Cemetery, Athol. Memorials may be made to the family. There will be no visitation. |
