Daniel J. Hanson Sr, 72, Salina, died Thursday, Dec. 21, 2006. Mr. Hanson was born Jan. 3, 1934, in Mentor, the son of Earl and Roberta (Bachofer) Hanson. He worked for Premier Pneumatics in Salina for many years. After his retirement, he was the owner of Hanson Rentals and also built several homes in Salina. He was a member of St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church, the Elks Lodge, AA and the Salina Country Club. He was preceded in death by his parents; a twin brother, Donald, in 1934; his first wife, Patricia Owens Hanson, in 1996; and his second wife, Natalie Platten Hanson, in 1999. Survivors include a son, Daniel J. Hanson Jr. of Dallas; a daughter, Tammy Bouslaugh of Hoskins, Neb.; two stepsons, John Platten of Denver and Tom Platten of Salina; a stepdaughter, Sara Ahr of Dallas; a brother, Vaughn “Bill” Hanson of Salina; a close friend, Margaret Riley of Salina; four grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and six stepgrandchildren. The funeral will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church, Salina, the Rev. Frank Coady officiating. Burial will be in Mount Calvary Cemetery, Salina. A vigil will be at 6 p.m. Tuesday at the church. Memorials may be made to the church or AA. Visitation will be from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Tuesday at Ryan Mortuary, 137 N. Eighth, Salina 67401, and an hour prior to both the vigil and funeral at the church. |
