Mrs. Henshaw was born Florence L. McCoy on July 2, 1905, in Verdi, the daughter of Thaddeus and Mabel (Boyer) McCoy. She farmed her own homestead in Niles. She graduated from Abilene High School and was a member of the Basketball Hall of Fame as a member of the first all-girls team in the United States.

She was preceded in death by her husband, William “Bill” Henshaw, in 1968; a son, Billy Gene Henshaw, in 1929; five stepbrothers and sisters; and a great-grandchild.

Survivors include a daughter, Guyla Burkholder and husband Carl of Culver; seven grandchildren, Mike Noyes of Salina, Lowell Toothman of Wichita, Susan Edmons of Wisconsin, Lill Applebby of Salina, Forrest Noyes of Boston and Artie Burkholder and Donnie Burkholder, both of Abilene; 17 great-grandchildren; and a great-great-grandchild.

There will be no service or visitation. The body was cremated.
