Mrs. Hoopes was born Florence Jane Young on May 31, 1915, in Blackwolf. She was a nurse.

She was a member of St. Bernard Catholic Church, Ellsworth, baptized on Sept. 15, 1915.

She was preceded in death by a grandson, Ricky Lee Hoopes; and a great-grandson, Russell E. Goff II.

Survivors include a son, Dale and wife Shirley of Smolan; three granddaughters, Dalynn Hamilton and companion Daniel Drinkard, Angela Hall and husband Bryan and Mary Strunk and companion Teresa Romey-Strunk; two grandsons, Garrett and Karlton Hoopes; three great-grandchildren, Michelle Goff, Brandon Shelton and Angel Shelton; and four great-great-grandchildren, Cody Shelton, Addison Shelton, Taye Vega and Chelsea Toothman.

The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at Ryan Mortuary, 137 N. Eighth, Salina 67401. Burial will be in Roselawn Memorial Park, 1920 E. Crawford, Salina.

Memorials may be made to Hospice of Salina.

Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home, where the family will receive friends from 6 to 7 p.m.
