Mrs. Hoover was born Mary Ann Korb on April 8, 1927, in Scottsbluff, Neb., the daughter of Harold Korb and the former Beth Higbee. She was a homemaker, taught sixth grade in Nebraska and worked in the St. John’s and Asbury Hospital gift shops in Salina.

She was a graduate of the University of Nebraska and a member of Gamma Phi Beta Sorority, A.C.B.L., Salina Country Club, Salina Community Theater’s Guild and Christ Cathedral Episcopal Church.

She was preceded in death by her first husband, William F. Kirk, in 1973; her second husband, Harvey J. Hoover, in 1985; and three children.

Survivors include a daughter, Kathy Cooney and husband Tom of Tecumseh; and three grandchildren, Michael Maki, Megan Cooney and Grant Cooney, all of Tecumseh.

A graveside service will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday in the Gypsum Hill Cemetery, Salina, the Rev. Canon Bruce E. LeBarron officiating.

Memorials may be made to Christ Cathedral Episcopal Church.

There will be no visitation.
