Mr. Johnson was born Jan. 30, 1930, in Salina. He was a tool planer for Beech Aircraft. He was a life member of the Salina VFW Post No. 1432.

Survivors include his wife, Esther, of Salina; two sons, Mark and wife Sandy of Bonner Springs and Marty of Marion; a granddaughter, Tammy Johnson; five grandsons, Wesley, Jon, Bret, Donald and Bryan Johnson; nine great-grandchildren; his stepmother, Alberta Johnson of Salina; three brothers, Donald E. of Arizona, Dick of Salina and Fred of Topeka; and four sisters, Pat Harbaken of Florida, Jannette Butler and Pam Henock, both of Salina, and Cheryl Stark of Topeka.

A memorial service will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday at Ryan Mortuary, 137 N. Eighth, Salina 67401, the Rev. Paul Robbins officiating.
