Mildred S. Larson

Mildred S. Larson, 94, Salina, died Friday, December 1, 2006.

Mrs. Larson was born Mildred Selma Charlotte Tillberg on Nov. 22, 1912, in Hedville, the daughter of Albin Tillberg and the former Hulda Peterson. She was a homemaker and a teacher in one-room schoolhouses for two years. She was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church and its Altar Guild, Friendship Club and Funeral Serving Committee, and was also a member of WELCA, Tabitha Ruth Group and the Northwest Aid Society.

She married Harold A. Larson on March 15, 1939, in Immanuel Lutheran Church, Salina.

She was preceded in death by her husband, in 1966; two brothers, Lawrence and Elmer Tillberg; and two sisters, Edith Martin and Alfreda Johnson.

Survivors include two daughters, Carolyn Larson of Salina and Rosanna Fredrickson and husband Ronald of Courtland; a brother, Harold Tillberg and wife Maxine of Salina; three sisters-in-law, Rosalind Tillberg, Louise Tillberg and Lois Larson; two grandchildren, Jon Fredrickson of Topeka and Jeremy Fredrickson of Wellington; 21 nieces and nephews; 43 great-nieces and nephews; and 34 great-great-nieces and nephews.

The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Immanuel Lutheran Church, 255 S. Seventh, Salina, the Rev. Kent Happel officiating. Burial will be in the Salemsborg Lutheran Church Cemetery, Smolan.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Immanuel Lutheran Church Foundation.

Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Monday at Ryan Mortuary, 137 N. Eighth, Salina 67401, where the family will receive friends from 6 to 7 p.m.
