BROOKVILLE -- Carl E. Lindquist, 89, Brookville, died Monday, October 16, 2006. Mr. Lindquist was born Jan. 11, 1917, in Brookville. He owned and operated Lindquist Implement Co., Salina, and farmed in the Brookville area. He married his spouse of 65 years, the former E. May “Pat” Lessig, on Dec. 21, 1941, in Salina. He served as a private first class in the U.S. Air Force from 1941 to 1945, during World War II. He was a member of Salina Masonic Lodge No. 60, AF&AM, Scottish Rite, Order of the Eastern Star and Isis Shrine. He is a former USD 307 school board member, a charter member of the Ell-Salina Lions Club and 4-H Club, a 4-H leader and a member of the Brookville Senior Citizens Club. He was preceded in death by his parents, Ernest W. Lindquist and the former Maude E. Hudson; two brothers, Harold O. and Melvin R.; and a sister, Lois Lindquist Dauer. Survivors, in addition to his wife, include two sons, Jon Carl and wife Kaye of Brookville and James Robert and wife Kay of Giltner, Neb.; seven grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren. A memorial service will be at 10 a.m. Friday at Brookville United Methodist Church, with Pastor Emily Meckley officiating. Burial will be in Brookville City Cemetery, with Masonic rites presented by Past Master Doug Gomel. Memorials may be made to Brookville United Methodist Church. |
