Luman DeWitt “Casey” Moon III

Luman DeWitt “Casey” Moon III, 85, Salina, died Thursday, August 24, 2006.

Mr. Moon was born July 14, 1921, in Culver, the son of Luman D. Moon II and Mary Moon.

He was a veteran of World War II, serving in the U.S. Army in France and Germany. After his military service, he returned to Culver, where he served as postmaster.

He was well-known in the Salina area for his expertise as a piano player.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Helen, in 1997; and his parents.

Survivors include his stepchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, and his special friends, Kathy and Travis Jackson of Salina.

The funeral will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Ryan Mortuary, 137 N. Eighth, Salina 67401, the Rev. Dan Johnson officiating. Burial will be in Gypsum Hill Cemetery, Salina, with military honors by Fort Riley.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Seventh Day Adventist Church, Emergency Food Bank or Hospice Care of Kansas.

Visitation will be from 2 to 8 p.m. Monday at the mortuary.
