Georgia G. Pearce, 90, Salina, died Monday, Sept. 25, 2006. Mrs. Pearce was born Georgia G. Smith on Aug. 4, 1916, in Amarillo, Texas, the daughter of George L. and Ethel H. (Lawrence) Smith. She was a homemaker, and she and her husband owned and operated the Dixie Cream Donut Shop, Salina, from 1945 to 1955. She graduated from Holmes School of Business. She was a member of First United Methodist Church, the church Sunday school class and the Salina Country Club. She was an avid golfer. She married Garland D. on Nov. 23, 1935. He died in 1996. She also was preceded in death by her parents. Survivors include three sons, Duane and wife Vera of Topeka, David and wife Dorris of Wichita and Dan and wife Gail of Bossier City, La.; five grandchildren; two stepgrandchildren; five great-grandchildren; three stepgreat-grandchildren; and a special niece Patsy Bray of San Angelo, Texas. The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Ryan Mortuary, 137 N. Eighth, Salina 67401, the Rev. Troy Bowers officiating. Burial will be in Roselawn Memorial Park, Salina. Memorials may be made to Hospice of Salina. Visitation will be from 1 to 8 p.m. today at the mortuary, where the family will receive friends from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. |
