Mr. Pflieger was born Oct. 4, 1919, in Phillips County. He was a farmer in the Logan area for many years.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Frances L., in 1995.

Survivors include a son, Edwin F. Pflieger of Newport Richey, Fla.; three daughters, Mary Ann Huffman and husband Thomas of Salina, Jean St. John of Los Angeles and Marlene Dietz and husband, Brad of Topeka; his grandchildren, Michael, Marguerite and Mark Pflieger, Michael and Matthew Huffman, Martin Schienle and Morgan and Taylor Dietz; and his great-grandchildren, Lexus G. Stewart and Jhett B. Huffman.

The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at St. John Catholic Church, Logan. Burial will be in Pleasant View Cemetery, Logan, with military honors by Fort Riley.

A rosary will be said at 6:30 p.m. Friday at Ryan Mortuary, 137 N. Eighth, Salina 67401.

Memorials may be made to St. Mary Catholic Church, Salina, Hospice of Kansas or the American Heart Association.

Visitation will be from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Friday at the mortuary and 10:30 a.m. to service time Saturday at the church in Logan.
