Mr. Phillips was born June 6, 1917, in Gypsum. He owned and operated Phillips Motor Co. in Salina for many years.

He was preceded in death by two daughters, Sharon Spillers in 1997, and Dena Lewis in 1973; and a grandson.

Survivors include his wife, Esther, of the home; a daughter, Shirley Jorgensen of Salina; five grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and a great-great-grandchild.

The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Friday at Ryan Mortuary, 137 N. Eighth, Salina 67401. Burial will be in Gypsum Cemetery, with military honors provided by Fort Riley.

Memorials may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital or a charity of the donor’s choice.

Visitation will be from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. today at the mortuary, where the family will receive friends from 6:30 to 8 p.m.
