Mr. Pickens was born December 17, 1924 at Sayre, OK. He worked as a truck driver for J.T. Richardson, Tulsa Crude and Shamrock Concrete.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Lando Pickens and Lillie Wood; his wife, Lorraine Pickens; a brother, J.R. King and a sister Waunetia Honeycutt.

Survivors include four daughters, Danielle Pickens of Salina, Carolyn Clarkson of Chester, IL, Donna Jean Pickens of Wichita, KS and Trisha Lee Long of Greenleaf, KS; a brother, Gary Wood of Pampa, TX; five grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

The funeral service will be at 1 p.m. Monday at Ryan Mortuary, 137 N. Eighth, Salina 67401. The graveside service will be at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday at the Shamrock Cemetery, Shamrock, TX.
