Mr. Prusa was born Joseph Nicholas Prusa on June 3, 1914, in Dubuque. He was a retired farmer.

Survivors include his wife of 60 years, Mathilda, of the home; a son, Joseph Edward Prusa of Desota, Texas; five daughters, Mary Ann Bohm and husband Pete of Salina, Lisha Bauck and husband Joe Jr. of Leoti, Donna Harris and husband Kenny of Blue Springs, Mo., Debora Bauck and husband Dennis of Leoti and Nancy Cowing and husband Mark of Leawood; 16 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

The funeral will be at 10 a.m. Friday at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church, 1000 Bur Oak Lane, Salina. A graveside service will be at 2:30 p.m. Friday in the St. Catherine Catholic Cemetery, Dubuque.

A vigil/rosary will be at 7 p.m. Thursday at the church.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Dubuque Heritage Fund for St. Catherine’s Cemetery or the Red Cross.

Visitation will be from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Thursday at Ryan Mortuary, 137 N. Eighth, Salina 67401.
