OMAHA, Neb. — Sara Grace Purcell, 94, was born Sara Grace Vidricksen in Kipp, Kansas on November 29, 1911. She died November 9, 2006 in Omaha, Nebraska where she had lived since 1990. She had moved into the Skyline Manor retirement center from New Cambria, Kansas where she had lived most of her life. Sara was preceded in death by husband William Purcell. She is survived by three daughters, Linda (Duaine) Reiff, Omaha, Nebraska; Kathleen (Lee) Anderson, Rockford, Ill; Dorothy (Glenn) Pedersen, Omaha, Nebraska; six grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. Sara was the last surviving child of John Chris and Christina Vidricksen and preceded in death by siblings Thomas Sidney (Sid), Harry, Raymond , Ann Hammond, Henry, George and John. Sara was a homemaker and an active church member her entire adult life. She served on the New Cambria school board in the 1960s. The funeral will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Peace Lutheran Church, New Cambria, Kan. Burial will be in Highland Cemetery, New Cambria. Memorials may be made to the Highland Cemetery, New Cambria or Skyline Foundation, % Skyline Retirement Community, 7350 Graceland Dr., Omaha, NE 68134 Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Ryan Mortuary, 137 N. Eighth, Salina, KS 67401, where the family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. |
