Benedicto C. “Ben" Salveron

Benedicto C. “Ben" Salveron, 77, Salina, died Monday, Dec. 18, 2006.

Mr. Salveron was born May 6, 1929, in Anilao, Philippines. He was a retired master sergeant in the U.S. Army, serving in Korea and Vietnam.

He was preceded in death by an infant son, Ernest.

Survivors include his wife, Thanh D., of the home; a daughter, Amy Brent of Salina; four brothers, Zacarias C. “Toto,” Nicasio C. “Nick” and Leonardo C. “Nards,” all of San Carlos, Anilao, Iloilo, Philippines, and Rodito C. “Rudy” of Kapalong, Davao del Norte, Philippines; two sisters, Erlinda C. “Ate” Salveron-Fiel of San Carlos, Anilao, Iloilo, Phillippnes, and Inocencia C. “Inos” Salveron-Tud of Kapalong, Davao del Norte, Philippines; and two grandchildren.

The funeral will be at 10 a.m. Friday at St. Mary Queen of the Universe Catholic Church, 230 E. Cloud, Salina. Burial will be in Fort Riley Cemetery, with military honors.

A vigil/rosary will be at 7 p.m. Thursday at Ryan Mortuary, 137 N. Eighth, Salina 67401.

Memorials may be made to St. Mary Church or Hospice of Salina.

Visitation will be from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday at the mortuary.
