Veronica M. "Vera" Schlick

Veronica M. "Vera" Schlick, 85, Salina, died Wednesday, Nov. 15, 2006.

Mrs. Schlick was born Veronica Marie Haffner on January 15, 1921 at Hoxie, the daughter of John Haffner and the former Francis Lang. She was a homemaker. She attended Rural School south of Hoxie. She was married to Theodore A. "Ted" Schlick on September 13, 1943 at Sacred Heart Church in Park, Kansas. She was a member of the Sacred Heart Cathedral Ladies Guild, the Sacred Heart Grade School Home and School Association and the Sacred Heart Cathedral.

Survivors include her husband, Theodore A. "Ted" Schlick of the home; a son, Jim Schlick of Salina; a daughter, Edna Zimmerman of Wichita; two brothers, Ray Haffner of Hoxie and John Haffner of Newton; four sisters, Mary Rohling of Nickerson, Elizabeth Miller of Hays, Jennie Eberle of Oakley and Annie Albers of Seldon; two grandchildren; one step-grandchild and three step-great grandchildren.

The funeral mass will be 10 a.m. Saturday, November 18, 2006 at the Sacred Heart Cathedral, 9th and Iron Ave., Salina. Burial will be in Mount Calvary Cemetery, Salina.

A vigil/rosary service will be at 7 p.m. Friday at the Ryan Mortuary, 137 N. Eighth Street, Salina 67401.

Memorials are suggested to Windsor Estates Nursing Center, Salina.

Visitation will be from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Friday at the mortuary.
