Mr. Sherrer was born July 15, 1949, in Salina. He worked at Clare Generator & Electric in Salina. He loved to water ski, hunt, fish, play pool, his family and helping friends and neighbors. He married Deanne Lee Gibb on March 30, 1974.

Survivors include his wife of 32 years, Deanne, of the home; a son, Eric and wife Pam of Athens, Ga.; a daughter, Kari Myers and fiance Ted Anderson; a grandson, Malik Myers of Salina; his parents, Glen and Irene Sherrer, of Raymore, Mo.; a sister, Glenda Dethloff and husband Michael of Raymore; a brother, Bradley of Admire; a brother-in-law, Mike Gibb and wife Jackie; a grandmother, Florence Hughes of Council Grove; nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts and uncles; and his dog, Lucky.

A memorial service will be at 1 p.m. Thursday at Ryan Mortuary, 137 N. Eighth, Salina 67401, the Rev. Paul Robbins officiating. Inurnment will be at a later date.

Memorials may be made to Ell-Saline Elementary School or the Saline County Humane Society.

There will be no visitation.
