Mr. Settle was born May 14, 1943 in St. Joseph, Missouri, the son of Louis and Helen (Thompson) Settle . He worked for 44 years as a service technician with KONE, Inc., retiring in 2005.

Survivors include his wife Mary, of the home; a son, Brad Settle and wife Alma of Salina; a daughter, Brenda Chapel and husband Ron of Assaria; his mother, Helen Grimes and step-father, Lloyd Grimes, both of Lee’s Summit, Missouri; a brother, Kenneth Settle of Lee’s Summit; a sister, Connie Scharff of Lee’s Summit; and five grandchildren, Katie Ballou and husband David of Gypsum, Nicholas Chapel of Assaria, Lindsey Rowe of Salina, and Brad and Alex Settle, both of Salina.

The memorial service will be at 11 a.m. Monday at the Ryan Mortuary, 137 N. Eighth, Salina 67401. Inurnment will be in the All Saints Catholic Cemetery, Salina.

Memorials may be made to Hospice of Salina.

Visitation will be from 2 to 6 p.m. Sunday at the mortuary, where the family will receive friends from 4 to 6 p.m.
