Mrs. Simmons was born Sharon L. Dewey on April 1, 1943, in Minneapolis. She was a retired administrative assistant.

Survivors include a son, Patrick Kirby of Salina; a daughter, Shari Creel of Salina; a brother, Bud Dewey of Solomon; two sisters, Judy Simpson of Osage City and Sue Marit of Salina; six grandchildren; and a great-grandchild.

The funeral will be at 2:30 p.m. Saturday at Faith Freewill Baptist Church, 611 Willis, Salina 67401.

Memorials may be made to American Diabetes Association.

There will be no visitation. The body was cremated.

Ryan Mortuary, 137 N. Eighth, Salina, is handling arrangements.
