Mrs. Simmons was born Mary J. Pruitt on Aug. 31, 1951, in Beloit. She was a homemaker and office manager for Westside Veterinary Clinic. She married David D. Simmons on Nov. 28, 1969, at First Baptist Church, Barnard.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Jim Pruitt and Jacqueline Jackson Louthan.

Survivors include her husband, David, of Salina; a daughter, Rachel Kelley and husband David of Brookville; a son, Darin Simmons and wife Jami of Salina; a sister, Sandy Maholland and husband Jeff of Salina; a brother, James Pruitt and wife June of Ellsworth; and a half brother, Phillip Louthan of Minneapolis.

The funeral will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Grand Avenue United Methodist Church, Salina, the Rev. Nancy Crowl officiating. Burial will be in Milo Cemetery, Barnard.

Visitation will be from noon to 8 p.m. Friday at Ryan Mortuary, 137 N. Eighth, Salina 67401, where the family will receive friends from 5:30 to 7 p.m.
