Eva I. Sorenson Yowell
March 4, 1903 - May 14, 2006

Eva I. Sorenson Yowell, 103, Salina, died Sunday, May 14, 2006.

Mrs. Yowell was born Eva I. Neaderhiser on March 4, 1903, in Solomon to Lewis William and Della May (Robbins) Neaderhiser. She was a homemaker and worked as a secretary for Healzer Cartage Co., Salina, for more than 17 years.

She had a deep love for her church, the First United Methodist Church, and had been very active in it. She was also a lifetime member of the Order of the Eastern Star.

She loved to travel, sew, knit, crochet and play the organ.

She was preceded in death by her husbands, Andy B. Sorenson, in 1968 and J. Percy Yowell, in 1995; a brother, Clarence Neaderhiser in 1935; a half brother, George R. Neaderhiser; a half sister, Iva Neaderhiser; and a stepdaughter, Ozella Eberhart in 1996.

Survivors include a daughter, Betty L. Glatt of Salina; a son, Leon Sorenson and wife JoAnne of Olathe; a son-in-law, Bob Eberhart of Manhattan; two grandsons, Andrew Glatt of Salina and Kent Sorenson of Olathe; two great-grandchildren, Chris Sorenson and Tera Sorenson, both of Olathe; two stepgrandchildren, Brad Eberhart of Springfield, Mo., and Kim Olson of Topeka; and two stepgreat-grandchildren, Courtney Olson and Alex Olson, both of Topeka.

The funeral will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday at the First United Methodist Church, Salina, the Rev. Troy Bowers, officiating. Burial will be in Prairie Mound Cemetery, Solomon.

Memorials may be made to the church or Hospice of Salina.

Visitation will be from noon to 1 p.m. Wednesday at the church.
