Roy William Allen, 90, Salina, died Friday, May 25, 2007. Mr. Allen was born Aug. 5, 1916, at Kansas City, Mo. He was a retired manager of Beech Aircraft, Salina Division. He married Marjorie M. Wade on Aug. 10, 1940, in Wichita. He served as a Salina city commissioner for four years and a Saline County commissioner for 16 years. He also served as president for the Salina Chamber of Commerce and the Salina United Way and was a member of the Salina Downtown Lions Club. He was a member of the board of the Trinity Lutheran Church, St. Johns Hospital Board and First Bank Kansas Board. He is survived by his wife, Marjorie, of the home; a son, Roy W. Jr. of Los Angeles; a daughter, Dr. Barbara Hill of Bryn Mawr, Pa.; three grandchildren, Nicola Hill, Megan Williams and Ryder Hill; a sister, Mildred Hemme of Sweet Springs, Mo.; two sisters-in-law, Lillian Allen of Plano, Texas, and Betty Mattingly of Wichita; a brother-in-law, Ernest Wade of Peck; and many nieces and nephews. The funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Trinity Lutheran Church, Ninth and Crawford, Salina, with the Rev. Charles Adams officiating. A graveside service and interment will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at White Chapel Memorial Gardens, Wichita. Memorials may be made to the church. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m.Monday at Ryan Mortuary, 137 N. Eighth, Salina. |
