Mr. Anderson was born March 18, 1947, in Kansas City, Mo. He was an English instructor at Salina South Middle School for 39 years.

He married Phyllis Kinder Aug. 16, 1969, at Overland Park Presbyterian Church.

He was a member of Salina Kennel Club and worked with obedience training and therapy dogs.

Survivors include his wife, Phyllis, of Salina; a son, William J. "Trey" of Overland Park; his mother, Olive Mae Anderson, of Overland Park; and a brother, Reginald of St. Louis.

A memorial service will be at 3:30 p.m. Wednesday at Ryan Mortuary, 137 N. Eighth, Salina 67401.

Memorials may be made to Salina South Middle School Library or Salina Kennel Club Therapy Dogs.

There will be no visitation. The body was cremated.
