Mary B. Armour, 85, Salina, died Thursday, March 1, 2007. Ms. Armour was born Mary B. Rose on April 2, 1921, in Redfield, Ark., the daughter of James Alonzo and Jimmerta Anna (Bain) Rose. She was a schoolteacher in Jewell, Tescott and Salina for more than 25 years, retiring in 1968. She also was a Republican precinct committeewoman for Precinct 8 for 15 years and served as a delegate at district and state conventions of the Republican Party. She graduated from Kansas Wesleyan University in 1943 and attended graduate school at Kansas State University. She was a member of the General Society of Mayflower Descendents, Kansas Society of Mayflower Descendents, National Society of Daughters of the American Revolution, National Society of Daughters of the American Colonists and First Presbyterian Church of Salina. The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Ryan Mortuary, 137 N. Eighth, Salina 67401. Burial will be in Roselawn Memorial Park, Salina. Memorials may be made to First Presbyterian Church Visitation will be from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday at the mortuary. |
