Mrs. Barke was born Annegrete Maria Suhr on June 6, 1929, to August and Margaret, in Freiburg, Elbe, Germany. She was a homemaker.

She was a member of the German-American Club.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Gerhard G, in 1999; a son, Lothar, in 2003; and a sister, Frieda Goedecke, in 2005.

Survivors include a son, Thomas of Salina; a daughter, Mary Barke of Lawrence; a brother, Walter and wife Ingrid of Salina; three grandchildren, Tera Chance, Erika Young and Justin Barke; and five great-grandchildren, Kloe Young, Kayla and Bailee Chance, and Essence and Rashad Barke.

The memorial service will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Trinity Lutheran Church, Salina. with the Rev. Charles Adams officiating. Private inurnment will be at a later date.

Memorials may be made to the church, Minneapolis Good Samaritan Center or Alzheimer's Foundation.

There will be no visitation.
