Mrs. Bencke was born B. Carola Anderson on July 29, 1919, near Bridgeport, the daughter of Samuel and Ida Anderson. She was a homemaker.

She was a member of the First United Methodist Church, Salina.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Alwyn A., in 1986; a brother, Rollin; a sister, Laurina Cipra; and a granddaughter, Lysandra Bencke.

Survivors include two sons, Leland and wife Wanda of Blue Springs, Mo., and Clifton and wife Jackie of Olathe; a daughter, Kathleen Reiff and husband Garry of Carlton; a sister, Adelia Ellwood of Lindsborg; six grandchildren, Christopher and Nathaniel Reiff, Cambra McGuire, and Paige, Susan and Karen Bencke; and many nieces and nephews.

The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Ryan Mortuary, 137 N. Eighth, Salina, KS67401,.the Rev. Troy Bowers will officiatinge. Burial will be in Rose Hill Cemetery, near Bridgeport.

Memorials may be made to the church or Bethany Home, Lindsborg.

Visitation will be from noon to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the mortuary.
