Dean L. Boyer

Dean L. Boyer, 83, Salina, died Thursday, June 14, 2007.

Mr. Boyer was born Jan. 17, 1924, in Salina. He worked as a civil engineer for the state of Kansas, Boyer & Hagedorn Engineering and the city of Salina, retiring in 1989.

He graduated with a Bachelor of Science from Kansas State University in 1951.

He married "Hank" Boyer on Jan. 8, 2000, in Salina.

He was a member of Christ the King Lutheran Church, Masonic Lodge 60, Noon Optimist of Salina and Elks Lodge 718 and a life member of the National Society of Professional Engineers.

He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II, serving in Italy. He was an avid golfer. He was the Junior Chamber of Commerce "Young Man of the Year" in 1958.

Survivors include his wife, "Hank," of Salina; three sons, Gary of Ottawa and Brian and Raymond, both of Salina; a stepson, Allen Corcoran of Lawrence; two daughters, Janice Wilcox of Salina and Jolene Davis of Arlington, Texas; three brothers, Robert of Hillsboro, Ore., Delmar of El Paso, Texas, and Kenneth of Las Vegas; two sisters, Norma Carmichael of Albuquerque, N.M., and Barbara Hoye of Nashville, Tenn.; 13 grandchildren; two stepgrandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

Graveside services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday in Roselawn Cemetery, Salina, followed by a memorial service at 11 a.m. at Christ the King Lutheran Church, Salina.

Memorials may be made to the church, Kansas District Optimist Jr. Golf or Hospice of Salina.

Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. today at Ryan Mortuary, 137 N. Eighth, Salina 67401, where the family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m.
