He was a student at Salina South High School, recently completing his freshman year. He also had worked at Brittendall Motor Co. and Burger King in Salina.

Survivors include his father and mother, Sammy L. Sr. and Audrey, of the home; two brothers, Blake and Sammy Jr., both of Salina; a sister, Julie Furbeck of Salina; a niece, Kenzie Furbeck of Salina; his birth mother, Rhonda Stevens, of Wichita; and his great-grandmother, Donna Jellison of Salina.

The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Friday at Ryan Mortuary, 137 N. Eighth, Salina 67401. Burial will be in Gypsum Hill Cemetery, Salina.

Visitation will be from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday at the mortuary.
