Mary Alice Brown, 89, Salina, died Sunday, October 7, 2007. Mrs. Brown was born Mary Alice Arnold on Nov. 3, 1917, in Salina to Lester C. Arnold and the former Marie Giltner Arnold. She was a homemaker. She formerly owned B&B Needle Point Shop. She was a member of Christ Cathedral Episcopal Church, Salina, and the Salina Country Club where she was club champion in 1971. She was an avid golfer. She is preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Harold E. Brown, in 1972; and a great-grandson, Gunnar Brown, in 1996. Survivors include three sons, Gary and wife Kate of Salina, Mike and wife Leilani of Scottsdale, Ariz., and Alan and wife Alexis of Ocala, Fla.; a brother, Jim of Assaria; seven grandchildren, Tammi Morgan of Mission Hills, Greg Brown of Salina, Wendy Dinan of Boston, Sophia Lidback of Alpharetta, Ga., Jane Ayre of Larned, Shannon Brown of Phoenix and Alyson Brown of Kragero, Norway; 12 great-grandchildren, Cole and Elle Morgan, Brooks and Stratton Brown, Gabriella, Julian, Francesca and Alexander Lidback and Abigail, Emma, Kennedy and CallenAyre. The funeral will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Christ Cathedral Episcopal Church, Salina, the Very Rev. Jerry Jones officiating. Disposition will be in Gypsum Hill Cemetery, Salina. Memorials may be made to the Gunnar Brown Scholarship Fund, Hospice of Salina or Salina Presbyterian Manor. Friends may call from noon to 6 p.m. Thursday at Ryan Mortuary, 137 N.
