Mrs. Burgess was born Marva Lee Edwards on Sept. 16, 1926, in Beloit. She was a homemaker.

She was preceded in death by her husbands, Thomas Preston Easter, in 1983, and Benjamin L. Burgess, in 1992; her parents, William Samuel Edwards and the former Nancy Connetta Cooper; four brothers, Glenn Edwards, William “Bill” Edwards, James Edwards and Leo “Sonny” Edwards; and a sister, Pauline Jones.

Survivors include three daughters, Paula Gillman of Salina, Susan Schwarz and husband Tim of Beatrice, Neb., and Connie Schroeder and husband Ken of McPherson; seven grandchildren, Kathleen Kroh, Joy Rangel, Stephanie Fischer, Dallas Gillman, Crystal Gillman, Brian Schwarz and Jeff Schwarz; and nine great-grandchildren, Lexi, Gabby, Gunnar, Taylor, Hunter, Jamie, Madison, Isabelle and Cole.

The funeral will be at 10 a.m. Friday at Ryan Mortuary, 137 N. Eighth, Salina 67401, the Rev. Paul Robbins officiating. Burial will be in Roselawn Memorial Park, Salina.

Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society or the American Lung Association.

Friends may call the morning of the service at the mortuary.
