Geraldine Alice "Jerry" Capps
March 23, 1927 - January 20, 2007

Geraldine Alice "Jerry" Capps, 79, Salina, died Jan. 20, 2007.

Mrs. Capps was born Geraldine Alice McCullick on March 23, 1927, in Ada, the daughter of Earl R. and Ida M. (Riggs) McCullick. She was administrative assistant for Crisis Hotline and PBX operator for Salina Regional Health Center, retiring in 2005.

She attended Kansas Wesleyan University.

She was married Nov. 4, 1947, in Ada and was the wife of a career Air Force tech sergeant.

She rode horses and played the piano and clarinet. She enjoyed sewing, bowling and reading books. She was Kansas State Twirling champion in 1945 and received many sales awards from Avon Cosmetics.

She was preceded in death by twin sons, William and James; a sister, Mary McCullick; a stepbrother, Bob Muir; her parents; and a stepfather, William Dunlap Carey.

Survivors include a son, Kurt L. of Salina; a daughter, Karen R. Capps of Salina; her stepmother, Berniece McCullick, of Salina; a grandchild; two stepgrandchildren; three great-grandchildren; many stepgreat-grandchildren; and cousins, McCullick, Baldwin, Riggs, Creek, Hogarty, Buck, McLaughlin, Carrier, Pridey, Stanley, Sechrist, Van Meter, Caldwell, Rhea, McCall, Sink, Jarrett and Twibell.

A memorial service will be at 2 p.m. Friday at Ryan Mortuary, 137 N. Eighth, Salina 67401. Inurnment will be at a later date.

Memorials may be made to Crisis Hotline, Hospice Care of Kansas or a recipient of the donor's choice.

There will be no visitation. The body was cremated.
