Mr. Carpenter was born March 9, 1945, in Beloit. He was a retired truck driver for Snowline Express, Caldwell, Idaho.

He was preceded in death by a son, Scott in 2005; his father, Keith Leon, in 1990; and his stepfather, Clark Walters, in 1999.

Survivors include his wife, Margaret, of the home; three daughters, Cindie LaBore and Rhonda LePage, both of Wessington Springs, S.D., and Caroline Yungeberg of Washington; a brother, Kenny of Salina; a sister, Dora Purdom of Muskogee, Okla.; his mother, Dora Walters, of Salina; and eight grandchildren.

A memorial service will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Grace Baptist Temple, 400 E. Crawford, Salina 67401.

Memorials may be made to the church.

There will be no visitation. The body was cremated.
