Mr. Comfort was born May 10, 1932, in Wells. He was the owner and operator of Comfort Small Engine Repair in Mentor. He was a founding member and trustee of Saline County Rural Fire Department No. 2 and a member of Mentor United Methodist Church.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Frank D. Comfort and the former Angie C. Woodruff; and a brother, Malcolm, in 1994.

Survivors include his wife, Wanda, of the home; a daughter, Debbie Hauck of Niwot, Colo.; a son, Greg Comfort and wife Danita of Colby; a sister, Gloria Wagner of Bennington; and five grandchildren, Todd Hauck, Christopher Hauck, Jeremy Hauck, Chandler Comfort and Caitlyn Comfort.

The memorial service will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at Mentor United Methodist Church, the Rev. Chad Young officiating. Burial will be at 9:30 a.m. in Bennington Cemetery.

Memorials may be made to the church or American Heart Association.

Visitation will be from noon to 8 p.m. today at Ryan Mortuary, 137 N. Eighth, Salina 67401, where the family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m.
