Mrs. Danielson was born Irene L. Leiszler on Nov. 26, 1914, in Strawberry, Washington County. She was a schoolteacher in Washington County for seven years; supervising election judge for South Park Precinct, Salina, for more than 40 years; and a real estate agent for Hazel Elliott Agency, Salina. On June 3, 1941 she married Kenneth “Swede” Danielson in Clifton. He died in 1999.She was a member of Sacred Heart Ladies Guild, Carpenter’s Ladies Auxiliary, American Legion Ladies Auxiliary, Democrat Women’s Club and Creative Writing Class.

She was preceded in death by two brothers, Alvin and Leonard; and a sister, Lucy Esslinger.

Survivors include two sons, Steve and wife Gwen of Solana Beach, Calif., and Lynn and wife Kim of Salina; a daughter, LeAnn Redlinger and husband Mark of Lake Ridge, Va.; an adopted brother, Milton Leiszler of Clifton; two sisters, Hulda Matson of Clifton and Darlene Schneider of West Plains, Mo.; and five grandchildren, Bill Danielson, Mike Danielson, Jenny Danielson, Andrew Redlinger and John Redlinger.

The funeral will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Sacred Heart Cathedral. Burial will be in Mount Calvary Cemetery.

A vigil will be at 7:30 p.m. Friday at Ryan Mortuary, 137 N. Eighth, Salina 67401.

Memorials may be made to the church.

Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
