Mr. Davis was born July 28, 1936, in Mendon, Mo., the son of George W. and Mary A. Davis. He worked for UPS for 20 years before retiring. He also lived in Lawrence, Overbrook, Carbondale and Scranton before moving to Salina in 1986.

He married Barbara Mitchell on July 5, 1956, in Lawrence.

Survivors include his wife, Barbara, of the home; four sons, James and Garry and wife Kim, all of Salina, Ronald and wife Margie of McLouth, and Micheal and wife Amber of Wichita; a daughter, Kimberly Bernhardt and husband Duane of Carbondale; two sisters, Peggy Vausbinder of Lawrence and Dixie Woods of Desert Hot Springs, Calif.; 21 grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

A memorial service and inurnment will be at a later date. The body was cremated.

Memorials may be made to the American Heart Association, American Diabetes Association or American Lung Association of Kansas.

There will be no visitation.
