Irene was born Sept. 5th, l916, in Dougherty, Iowa to Bill and Petranella(Hardman) Dougherty. She worked in retail sales at several Salina businesses, including Jild's, Maxine's, Verneda's and at Sunset Plaza Key Rexall.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Vic Dolan, in 1981, a son, Pat Dolan, Palm Springs, CA. in 2000, and her four siblings: William (Bud) Dougherty, Lucas; Virgil Dougherty, Salina;Mrs. Jane Prather, Salina, and Mrs. Margaret Ann Duncan, Hutchinson, Ks.

Survivors include daughters: , Karen Johnson of Ketchum, Idaho, Janelle (Charlie) Downs of Leoti, and Vicki (Don) Jacobson of Manhattan and daughter-in-law, Barbara Lamone Dolan, Palm Springs, California. Irene was grandmother to 13: Teresa Dolan, Julie Lewis, Chris Dolan, Laurie Franklin, Shellie Saban, Holly Huebner, Greg Johnson, Rebecca Downs, Jason Downs, Brenna Fulton, and Vincent, Neil, and Natalee Jacobson. She had 10 great-grandchildren: Ryan, Capri and Tate Lewis; Jansen, Reggie, and Tawny Franklin; Tierra, and Chyann Saban; and Megan and Riley Huebner.

A parish rosary will be held Wednesday, May 30, 2007 at 8PM at Sacred Heart Cathedral. Funeral Mass will be at 10AM on Thursday, May 31, 2007 at Sacred Heart, officiated by Father Allen Scheer with Msgr. James Hake, concelebrant. Burial will immediately follow at Mt. Calvary Cemetery.

Memorials may be made to Sacred Heart Cathedral or Saline County Meals on Wheels in care of Ryan Mortuary.

There will be no visitation.
