Mr. Edwards was born Jan. 29, 1951, in El Dorado. He was an assembly line worker. He served in the U.S. Navy during the Vietnam War. He was an avid hunter and fisherman and enjoyed camping.

He was preceded in death by his father, Fred Edwards, in 1996; and a brother, Ricky Edwards, in 1957.

Survivors include his wife, Mary Edwards, of Salina; a stepson, Brian Owens and wife Jerri of Salina; a stepdaughter, Kari Owens of Salina; a brother, Stephen Edwards and wife Glenda of Salina; two sisters, Lee Ann Sparks and husband Rodger of Salina and Cinda Leck and husband Charles of Key Largo, Fla.; his mother, Joyce Edwards, of Salina; and two grandchildren, Jeremy Sterling and Jenna Owens, both of Salina.

The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Monday at Ryan Mortuary, 137 N. Eighth, Salina. Burial will be in Gypsum Hill Cemetery, Salina.

Memorials may be made to Hospice of Salina or OCCK Transportation Fund.

Friends may call from noon to 8 p.m. Sunday at the mortuary.
