Mrs. Fiedler was born Catherine Mary Mitchell on Feb. 8, 1912, in Plainfield, N.J. She was a homemaker and worked with her husband, Gordon, in the Gordon Retail Store, Washington, D.C., and Gordon Fiedler Realty, Salina.

She married Gordon Douglas Fiedler at Dunellen Presbyterian Church in Dunellen, N.J., in 1936.

She was a member of River Road United Presbyterian Church, Washington, D.C., Sunrise Presbyterian Church, Salina, Sunrise Presbyterian Mariners, The Rainbow Girls and The Order of The Eastern Star. She was an avid supporter of Silver Sabres Drum and Bugle Corps.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Gordon Douglas Fiedler Sr., in 2004; and a brother, Doug Mitchell, in 2003.

Survivors include a son, Gordon Jr. and wife Patti of Tescott; a daughter, Cathy Smith of Galveston, Texas; six grandchildren, Douglas Smith and wife Connie of Kingman, Ariz., Wendy Buttino and husband Anthony of Los Angeles, Martie Barillas of Galveston, Texas, Staff Sgt. Shannon D. Fiedler and wife Kellie of Quantico, Va., Mitchell Fiedler of Newport News, Va., and Sara Catherine Fiedler of Lenexa; 10 great-grandchildren, Trinity, Oliver, Emma, Katie, Madison, Noah, Drew, Mason, Joey and Aidyn.

The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at Sunrise Presbyterian Church, Salina. Burial will be in Crown Point Cemetery, Culver.

Memorials may be made to the church.

Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Ryan Mortuary, 137 N. Eighth, Salina 67401, where the family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m.
