Mr. Fields was born Oct. 11, 1927, in Independence. He was a pharmacist for 50 years, during which time he owned and operated Fields Pharmacy, Salina, for 25 years. He was choir director for Salina Bible Church.

Survivors include his wife, Dorothy, of Salina; a son, Stan of Salina; three daughters, Diane Schwerdtfager of Salina, Sandra Heitsman of Wichita and Denise Blehm of Abilene; two sisters, Blendina Johnson of Chanute and Eileen Bowers of Tulsa, Okla.; eight grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

The funeral will be at 2:30 p.m. Tuesday at Salina Bible Church. Burial will be in Gypsum Hill Cemetery, Salina.

Memorials may be made to the church.
