BAKERSFIELD, Calif. — Thelma C. Fredlake, 92, Bakersfield, formerly of Salina, Kan., died Tuesday, Nov. 27, 2007. Mrs. Fredlake was born Thelma C. Sundblom on April 19, 1915, in Kipp, Kan. She was a caregiver to her parents, sisters,and fellow residents of independent living centers.On May 25, 1940, she married Lawrence Struble in Salina. He was killed in April 1945 while serving with the U.S. Army in Germany. In December 1948, she married Leonard W. Fredlake. He served in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean War and rose to the rank of major. He died in a training mission in September 1961.Thelma was a avid fisherman and enjoyed trips to Branson, Mo., and Colorado for trout fishing. In addition to her two husbands, she was preceded in death by two sisters, Virginia and Dorothy; and a brother, Virgil. Survivors include a son, Larry Struble and wife Geri of Bakersfield, Calif.; a sister, Luella Pierce of Olathe, Kan.; three grandchildren, Traci Sullivan, Wayne Struble and Jennifer Jordan; and four great-grandchildren, Tyler and Thomas Sullivan, Zayne Brown and Branna Struble, all of Bakersfield. Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday in Gypsum Hill Cemetery, Salina, with the Rev. Ed Foster officiating. Ryan Mortuary, 137 N. Eighth, Salina 67401, is handling arrangements. |
