Mr. Gonzales was born May 10, 1926 in Norwalk, California. He worked as a self-employed truck driver.

He was preceded in death by a son, Lawrence Gonzales.

Survivors include his wife, Carol, of the home; four sons, Vincent, Alfred and George Gonzales and Lynn Howell; five daughters, Linda Centiliver, Rebecca Gariner, Georgia Munoz, Mary Gonzales, and Jamie Howell; one brother, Rufugio Gonzales; one sister, Ruth Gonzales; and 31 grandchildren and 24 great-grandchildren.

A graveside service will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday in the Abilene Cemetery, Abilene.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Heart Association.

There will be no visitation. The body was cremated.
