Mr. Hatfield was born October 13, 1949, in Casper, Wyoming. He was a highway and bridge construction employee. He served with the U.S. Marines in the Viet Nam War.

He was preceded in death by a son, Jason, in 2001; and a brother, Michael, in 1990.

Survivors include his wife, Sharon of the home; his parents, Boyd and Carolyn Hatfield of Salina; two stepsons, Jon Heald and Chris Heald, both of Minneapolis; a stepdaughter, Amy Aring of Lincoln; two brothers, Boyd and Russell; a sister, Roxanne Hatfield of Salina; and six grandchildren.

A memorial service and private inurnment will be at a later date.

Memorials may be made to the Rebecca A. Morrison House, Salina.

There will be no visitation.
