Mrs. Heline was born Bernadette N. Doherty on March 12, 1933, in Osawatomi to Edward James Doherty and the former Alice Mae Maloney Doherty.

She married John W. Heline on Sept. 12, 1954, at Bethany Lutheran Church in Lindsborg.

She was preceded in death by her husband, John W.; her parents; and a brother Wendall.

Survivors include two sons, Greg and wife Erica of Lindsborg and Jeff and wife Sandi of Lawrence; four brothers, Edward and wife Lois of St. Louis, Mo., Charles and wife Evelyn of Des Moines, Iowa, Patrick and wife Emma of Salina and Mike and wife LoRita of Lindsborg; a sister, Betty and husband Paul Holcombe of Lindsborg; a sister-in-law Jan Doherty of Salina; and seven grandchildren, Krista, Megan, Hanna, Mackenzie, Lily, Alec and Ryan.

A Memorial Service will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Salina. Burial will be in Elmwood Cemetery in Lindsborg.

Memorials may be made to Immanuel Lutheran Church or Bethany Home in Lindsborg.

Visitation will be from noon to 8 p.m. today at Ryan Mortuary, 137 North Eighth, Salina, KS 67401. The family will receive friends from 7 to 8 p.m.
