Mrs. Hessee was born Marilyn L. Kutz on Aug. 15, 1928. She was an English teacher at Concordia Jr/Sr High School for 18 years.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Paul, in 1990.

Survivors include two daughters, Barbara Lorson of Hope and Janice Blomquist of Hillsboro, Ore.; a brother, Harold of Artesia, N.M.; five grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

A celebration of life will be at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday at Eaglecrest Retirement Community, Salina. Inurnment will be at a later date.

Memorials may be made to Hospice of Salina.

There will be no visitation. The body was cremated.
