Virgil G. Holcom, 65, Salina, died Wednesday, April 11, 2007. Mr. Holcom was born Nov. 23, 1941, in Salina. He was a farmer and stockman and had worked as a concrete finisher for Busboom & Rauh, retiring in 2003. He was an elk hunter and a member of the American Simmental Association. He married Sharon Eisenhauer on Feb. 4, 1961, in Salina. He was preceded in death by his parents, Newton B. Holcom and the former Alice Brewer Holcom; three brothers, Clyde, Richard and Loren Holcom; and a sister, Betty Stevenson. Survivors include his wife, Sharon, of Salina; a daughter, Sandy Wilson and husband Rick of Salina; a son, Dennis and wife Terri of Simi Valley, Calif.; three brothers, Newton B. Jr. and wife Annetta and Melvin and wife Sharon, all of Salina, and Donald and wife Nancy of Lake Charles, La.; a sister, Darlene Corcoran and husband Larry; and two grandchildren, Zack and Daniel Wilson of Salina. The funeral will be at 1 p.m. Monday at Ryan Mortuary, 137 N. Eighth, Salina 67401, the Rev. Glenn Davis officiating. Burial will be in Gypsum City Cemetery, Gypsum. Visitation will be from noon to 5 p.m. Sunday at the mortuary, where the family will receive friends from 3 to 4 p.m. Memorials may be made to First Southern Baptist Church, Salina. |
