Mrs. Hoopes was born Shirley Ann Reimer on Nov. 2, 1938, in St. Joseph, Mo. She was a foster mother.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Herman Fredrick Reimer and Leola Irene Meridith; a sister, Betty Alice Mclane; a son, Rickey Lee Hoopes; and a grandson, Russell Goff II.

Survivors include her husband, Dale, of the home; three daughters, Mary Catherine Strunk and companion Teresa Strunk-Romey of Wichita, Dalynn Hamilton and companion Daniel Drinkard of Smolan, and Angela Hall and husband Bryan of Salina; two sons, Garrett John and Karlton Joseph, both of Salina; a sister, Mary Ellen Snow of Salina; a brother-in-law, Richard Mclane of Smolan; three grandchildren, Michele Goff of Cosby, Tenn., Brandon Lee Shelton and wife Shannon of Salina, and Angel Marie Shelton of Smolan; and four great-grandchildren.

The funeral will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church, Salina. Burial will be in Roselawn Memorial Park, 1920 E. Crawford, Salina.

Memorials may be made to Hospice of Salina.

Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Monday at Ryan Mortuary, 137 N. Eighth, Salina 67401, where the family will receive friends from 6 to 7 p.m.

A vigil will be at 7 p.m. Monday at the mortuary.
