Mr. Koster was born Nicholas Peter Koster on May 8, 1919, in Cawker City. He was a farmer and stockman for many years, until retirement.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Filicitia, in 2002.

Survivors include three sons, Dennis of Tescott, Don of Minneapolis and Jim of Bennington; a daughter, Janice Peters of Richardson, Texas; a brother, Ed Budke of Salome, Ariz.; a sister, Helen Koster of Salina; 11 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

The funeral will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church, 1000 Burr Oak, Salina. Burial will be in Mount Calvary Cemetery, Salina, with military honors by VFW Post 1432, Salina.

A vigil will be at 7 p.m. today at Ryan Mortuary, 137 N. Eighth, Salina 67401.
